By 2017, Nike and Jordan Brand were focused on honoring the legacy of the hyper-exclusive 2009 "History of Flight" collection—originally a non-retail sample set displayed at the World Basketball Festival to celebrate the brand's 25th anniversary—by finally giving fans a chance to own a piece of sneaker history through a general public release.

The Design Concept

Unlike standard leather versions of this silhouette, the 414574-103 variant embraced a highly contrasting, material-forward construction. It was crafted with a premium white tumbled leather upper and tonal overlays that reflect the stealthy lines of a black panther, but elevated with a vibrant University Red collar lining, a metallic silver Jumpman tongue logo, a striking red rubber outsole, and the silhouette's signature iridescent holographic "cat eye" on the heel.
