The Nike Air Foamposite Pro Premium "Yeezy" (Style Code: 615750-003) is a highly coveted sneaker released in 2014 that pays homage to the iconic "Solar Red" Air Yeezy 2 colorway. It features a blacked-out upper with a subtle carbon fiber textured print, a vibrant Laser Crimson lining, and a striking glow-in-the-dark translucent outsole.

While the black "Solar Red" Foamposite Pro launched first in 2014, the "Pure Platinum" edition was released on March 4, 2016, at a retail price of $250. It served as the grand finale to Nike's famous "Yeezy-inspired" inline collection. 

To understand why this shoe exists, you have to look back to late 2013. Kanye West famously split from Nike after a dispute over royalties and creative control, subsequently signing his groundbreaking deal with Adidas. At the time of his departure, his Nike Air Yeezy 2 colorways—specifically the "Solar Red" and the "Pure Platinum"—were the most coveted, mythologized sneakers on the planet.
Left with the cultural blueprints but without the collaborator, Nike's design team began paying homage to those historic colorways by applying them to other classic models. The bulky, futuristic Foamposite Pro shell became the ultimate canvas for this execution. 
Design & Material Breakdown

The "Pure Platinum" Foamposite Pro was meticulously built to mirror the exact aesthetic of the 2012 Pure Platinum Air Yeezy 2:
  • The Upper Shell: Dressed in a Wolf Grey and Pure Platinum polyurethane liquid mold, featuring a distinct graphic texture mimicking the original Yeezy silhouette's materials. 
  • The Accents: The collar lining and tongue details are finished in a vibrant Bright Crimson (closely matching the pop of contrast from the original Yeezy 2 lining). 
  • The Faux-Snake Eyestays: True to the luxury-inspired elements Kanye favored, the nubuck leather panels around the lace eyelets feature a subtle, embossed reptilian texture. 
  • Glow-in-the-Dark Outsole: The signature finish of the sneaker is its translucent rubber outsole that radiates a bright green glow when charged by light.
